Introduction about Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering:

Institute of Engineering & Science (IES) was established in the year 1999, with Electronics and Communication Engineering branch having an intake of 60 students. In the year 2004, BE (EC) intake was increased from 60 to 90 and further to 120 students in the year 2005 via approval from AICTE, New Delhi. The Department got the approval for starting ME degree course (Specialization- ECE) in the year 2007.

Electronics and Communication Engineering Department is committed to teach Engineering students with latest Communication Systems and Technologies covering Optical Cellular Communication, Next Generation Networks, Microwave and RADAR Engineering, DSP, VLSI design and Embedded Systems, Robotics, etc. within the framework of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Technical University of M.P.

The Department has well qualified faculty members, more than 10 well equipped labs and Departmental library facility. The Department regularly organizes Seminars and Workshops on Advanced Communication subjects and invites guest speakers to deliver talks on latest Communication topics.

Department of Electronics and Communication in IES is one of the 71 courses and 16 colleges (with about a total strength of more than 8500 students in different streams) run by IPS Academy. IES is running seven different branches of Engineering. IPS Academy is NAAC graded and ISO 9001-2008 certified.

Employment Opportunities in Electronics and Communication Engineering:

Communication services in India are poised for explosive growth. Engineering graduates in field of Electronics & Communication from various colleges have tremendous opportunities to create bench mark by acquiring excellent employment in the field of Electronics & Communication in various National and Multinational companies. This includes Electronics gadgets manufacturing projects like DELL, Softbank, Samsung, Cricket Semiconductors, Analog Semiconductors, Foxconn, ‘Make in India’ project by BSNL in collaboration with Japanese company, Infosys-Huawei collaboration for communication solutions, Reliance and many more which are ready to get established. With this progress in telecom sector, recent report by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) reflects a 12% hike in the salaries of telecom employees. We are fortunate enough to have the benefits of the support of the Govt. of India with initiation of Digital India project, which covers e-commerce and digitization of services under Govt. sector, and shall generate Govt. employment for around 5 crore Engineering Graduates in near future. In addition to this, recent Global Investors Summit held in the month of October, 2014 in Indore, promised an investment of around 4.31 crore in the state of M.P. which will bring floods of employment for the upcoming Engineers. Looking towards the bright future of the same, students all over the world are opting for various Communication Engineering courses.

The job arena in the field of Electronics and Communication spans in varied companies starting from core companies of Electronics namely Samsung, L.G., Videocon, INTEL, SIEMENS, InfoTech, etc, other core companies in Communication like BSNL, Airtel, Nokia, Essar, NTPC, BHEL and many companies in software field like TCS, Tech Mahindra Limited, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, etc.
